Ribbon Rainbow Block of the Month

This stunning block of the month is made using premium quilting Kona cottons. It is available with a black background or snow (off white). The program runs for 9 months and is prepared in rounds, starting in the center. This is a great project for confident beginners and beyond, as it is made using strips sub-cut into rectangles and squares. Some squares are marked and sewn on the diagonal to create ribbons.

Over the course of 9 months, you will receive fabrics to create a full/queen size (90” x 90”) quilt. To upgrade to a king size (108” x 108” quilt), you will need an additional 3 yards of background fabric (included in the 9th month as a King Upgrade for an additional fee).

Fees

• $25 Deposit and completed registration form due by February 1, 2018 to ensure your participation. Deposits received by January 15, 2018, receive a free keepsake. Download the registration form here.
• $20/month* for 9 months (Includes pattern, fabric for full/queen size [90” x 90”] top, plus binding to match your background choice.)
• Backing (matches background)*: Full/Queen: 8 yds 45” = $64 or 3 yds 108” = $51; King: 10 yds 45” = $80 or 3 ½ yds 108” = $60 (In order to have the additional fabric required on each side for longarm quilting, you will need to piece an 8” x 126” strip in the back using leftover background from the front, or make additional ribbon blocks for the additional width.)
• You will receive a $25 Yadkin Valley Quilts gift certificate that can be used toward a king upgrade, backing, batting, or longarm quilting services with your month 9 kit.

• Kits will be shipped using the U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail.

Pickup/Shipping

• Monthly kits will be available at Yadkin Valley Quilts (Elkin, NC) or Sew Blessed Quiltworks (North Wilkesboro, NC) on the 3rd Saturday of each month, beginning February 17, 2018, for in-studio participants.
• Participants picking up their kits between the 3rd Saturday and the last day of the month have the option of paying by cash, check, or credit card.
• In-studio participants who are unable to pick up their kits prior to the last day of the month will have their cards charged on the last day of the month. Kits will be held until your next visit to the studio, unless we receive written request to ship prior to the 25th of the month, in which case, shipping charges will be added to the monthly kit fee.
• Participants opting to have their kits shipped each month will have their credit cards charged for the monthly fee plus shipping on the 3rd Saturday of each month, and kits shipped the following Monday.

Open Sew Days & UFO Nights

• Join us for a free Open Sew time the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays and/or the 3rd Saturday of each month to work on your Ribbon Rainbow or other project. Come and go 10 am – 6 pm.
• Our 2nd & 4th Thursday evening UFO night meets 6 – 9 pm. Staff is available to assist with your projects as needed. The $10 session fee includes pizza and a drink.
• For either studio time, please call ahead to ensure that we have space set up for you.
